any-body.org

I recently got a new computer and had to reinstall kubuntu and thus had to reinstall stumble upon. this is a little button on your toolbar that your click and it takes you to a random page with a topic that you're interested in. One topic that I had picked is feminism. No, not the crazy man hating kind, but the women are people too kind, ya know? anyway, it took me to this site, any-body.org. i highly recommend it. I subscribed to the RSS feed and i hardly ever do that. Anyway, at the very bottom i came across an article about using normally sized women in magazines. One magazine decided to actually do this. this is the model he used

size 12 model Lauren Moller

he used this model for the cover of his swimwear segment. he had to use a south african model after his usual UK agency told him they were unable to provide a size 12 model as they consider this a 'plus size'.

That is so incredibly ridiculous to think of. No one, man or woman would think of her as plus sized. Many models that would be considered normal weight or perfect weight by a modelling agency are horribly underweight. It's a known fact that many models suffer from eating disorders and some have actually died of starvation. This Model,l size 0, recently died of just that cause.

we need to get it together people. I'm a huge believer in nudity. I think everyone should be nudists. And those of you who say, no way, we don't want to see some of those people naked. well, your attitude just fuels the views that the perfect woman is a size zero and starving to death.

Don't Mess With White Trash

Well, I finally convinced my best friend of 15 years to leave her abusive husband while he was busy being in a coma from a drug overdose. You'd think it'd be easy since she has a one year old daughter and daddy is a druggie, but no, apparently she enjoys the abuse. Physically, mentally, emotionally... he cut her down every way he could. Not to mention she had already left him once and accrued threats against her life and her family's life. They took her daughter and she had to get a lawyer to get her back. Anyway, regardless of the difficulty I did convince her to leave. We got some trash bags, got her clothes, got her daughter's clothes, some toys and left. She came to my house and called her mom to let her know that she was with me. Now, last time she left Matt's (the BF) mother, Patty Burr and his cousin, Jamie Burr, flipped on Stephanie (my BFF) including physically pushing her and threatening far worse. I don't know why Stephanie didn't think she would do the same this time but she didn't. Less than an hour after we left, Patty and her niece Tiffany Spencer, came to my house. Now, not knowing who they were I opened the door. They barged past me and began yelling at stephanie, upsetting Steph's daughter, Morgan, and my son, Caelan. We asked her to leave and she refused. We demanded she leave and she said no. Then she grabbed Morgan and tried to take her. (Kidnapping) We forceably took Morgan back. Patty got in my face and I swear I thought she was gonna deck me, but she didn't. I called the police and she left. I guess when she told me to go ahead and call the police she didn't really mean it. As she was leaving she said "i'll be back and i'll see you outside" OMG.. how white trash can you get? Or how juvenille? Fortunately Stephanie went back to WV, back to her parents. She has Morgan so they're both safe. Still, this is why I don't mess with white trash.

When good spells go bad

Performing spells is all about intent, energy, personal interest and need. Spells don't always go exactly how you want them to or how you think they will. I'm sure you've heard that bell rung time and time again, right? Ya know, perform a spell for money and then your favorite aunt dies. How willing are you to trade a loved one's life for paying the rent?

I recently cast a spell with good intent. A protection spell for a friend and her daughter against an abusive boyfriend/father. Perhaps my feelings for him tainted the spell. Perhaps the universe sensed my loathing and acted accordingly, but subsequently he ended up in a coma. I'm not blaming myself by any means as it was a druf overdose that put him there. Maybe I would have felt bad if I had caused a car accident or some such thing, but it seems that the universe was perfectly in sync with his own idiocy. Still, this is a warning to all would-be good-doers out there. Specify "with harm to none" if that is your intent. Unless you're hoping for a coma. But for those of you who aren't, who only want to do good without hurting someone else, make sure you specify.

Overall, I'm hoping that the situation turns out for the best. Perhaps the Universe decided that the best way to protect a woman and her innocent child was to eliminate the threat completely. Certainly that's the only way that she would ever be able to get away from him. I am completely confident that if he does somehow manage to come out of the coma that she will go directly back to him and continue to put herself and her daughter in danger. Still, i've learned my lesson. Good intent can cause bad things if you're not careful.

Giving Back

Tonight is a full moon. Just after 9PM. It's been a while since I've celebrated an esbat, full or new, but tonight I just felt like doing something. So I decided on a simple ritual to give some energy back to the earth. Energy that we rob from her every day. Energy that she freely gives. I'll pay my respects and say 'thank you' by offering up some of my own energy while also celebrating the life energy from the moon, the Goddess.
Now, to all you non-pagans, this probably sounds really strange, but it's a lot like tithing's. We usually have no physical churches that take a percentage of our pay, so we give back in other ways.
We wound the earth every day, ripping it up to build or pave or just plain disrespecting it. You don't have to be Pagan to realize that the earth is a gift. Even Christians should realize that the earth is a gift from God.
I may have an audience tonight, not sure. My friend, Kenya, from high school is interested and wants to watch a ritual/ceremony. I do feel a big uncomfortable doing something like that when the other person is watching, not participating. Eh, well. We'll see.
Artwork done by myself. Beautiful swirly brushes from: http://papersweets.fan-arts.net/ The title of the piece is called "Home of the Gods" and can be found full sized at: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/56356247/ just click on the image to enlarge it.

Don't forget to give back.

OMG! americans are f'in retarded!!!

Well, maybe not all Americans, but certainly the ones who agree with the blonde moron from fox news. Can't remember her name.. she's some kind of health guru. Basically the discussion was, should an American idol be obese. OBESE! This idiot actually called Jordan sparks obese! This is exactly what's wrong with so many people today. they hace such skewed ideas of beauty and health. In fact, i'd like to direct you all to a you tube video that :iconshelldevil: kindly shared with me.

this video shows you just what kind of unrealistic expectations and presumptions we have about models. the people that our children aspire so much to look like, never realizing that it is, in fact, impossible. No wonder we hace eight year old girls starving themselves or throwing up lunch trying to be as thin as these make believe models are. trying to be as beautiful as these make believe models are. No wonder we have young girls and teenagers being so sexually active, juding their own beauty and self worth by how many boys want to sleep with them. It's all fueled by people like this bimbo from fox. here's a clip from that interview on you tube-

There are, in fact, studies that show being slightly overweight is much much healthier than being very thing. Women, especially, are SUPPOSED to be curvy. they're supposed to be soft and squishy. Women are supposed to be like flowing silky, like a fluid willow, not a hard oak. Hard, firm bodies are a male trait and we shouldn't encourage woman to not only be perfect women but also perfect men. what the hell? this is why i'm going to keep my children- all my children, boys and girls- away from this soft of harmful media. and, if by any chance there are those of you who agree with blondie, well, you make me sick.

The O'Rielly Factor

*spits*

The O'Rielly Factor. If you watch this for any reason other than the BS factor then you probably shouldn't read this. As we all know the well known bigot, Jerry Falwell recently died. Those of us who are for freedom all did a little happy dance and rejoyced in this modern Hitler's demise. Falwell's Nazi's would argue that this is dispicable behavior. That this makes us hateful people. But let me just say... who would object to someone being happy about Hitler's death? (Psst... the answer is the Nazis) No one except for the rest of the extremeists. Jerry Falwell was a lousy human being and why does he deserve my respect? People say you shouldn't speak ill of the dead, but why? It doesn't make the things you say less true. My father died when I was 16. That doesn't make him less of an alcoholic. That didn't make him a better father. It makes no sense that we raise the dead up on some kind of untouchable pedestal. Jerry Falwell Was a horrible person and if there is a Hell I'm sure he's there. In fact, He and Hitler probably are best buddies down there because they'd probably agree on a lot. O'Rilly speaks of left wingers as if we're bad people. As if we're derogatory hoodlums. No, what we are is for human rights. We're for freedom. That makes us more American that the so called bushies, so for the war and so for following blindly anything that says "go america!" including the "war" on terror, the patriot act, and operation freedom. Liberals are for equality. we support the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) and you should too because they support you. They support basic human rights. So, I shall continue to be glad of Falwell's death. i'll do my happy little dance and not feel guilty an ounce.

so many blogs

I have a journal at deviantart.com a blog at myspace.com and now my husband has convinced me to have a blog here. so many blogs! i'll never keep up. which one do i write at? should i write the same thing at all three so that my faithful servants.... i mean fans don't miss anything? is anyone actually going to read this stupid thing anyway?

okay, first rantings.

as all of you pagans out there know, mabon falls on sept 23rd this year and i've decided to host a gathering at my home. i've invited several pagans and a few non pagan family members.. which i have to be very careful about since one side of my husband's familiy can't find out... they'd blow a gasket and we'd forever be shunned and our souls wept over. anyway... we're mostly going to eat and talk and one person wants to lead a small ritual. non pagans that i've invited are my sister in law, my brother in law and my cousin in law. everyone seemed really cool and open about everything but wait long enough and you'll always live to regret expecint openmindedness from people. my brother in law made the comment to his mother that he was afraid we would sacrifice him instead of the goat. (no.. there's no goat. no sacrifices at all.. he was just being a smart ass) this concerns me because if he's going to come then he needs to have respect for other people's beliefs and i don't want him offending anyone else that's going to be there. my sister in law... i didn't think she was very christian at all but my other sister in law mentioned to her that she wanted me to read her tarot cards and the response was, "won't you go to hell for that?". i ask, why agree to come if you have that kind of mindset?

you know the problem with monotheistic religions? they all think they're right, they're the only ones who are right and anyone else is going to hell. jews, christians, muslims.. they all worship the same god and yet thing that each other is slime and doomed to a firey eternity in the afterlife. for thousands of years there have been genocides, persecutions, bigotry, hate crimes in the name of God. Hitler believed he was appointed by God and was creating God's perfect race. he killed jews, gypsies, old and young.. the atrocities brought upon the world with this ego trip were enormous. Does anyone see the similarities with the current US leader? appointed by God? hummmm? dictator? hummmm? well... i'll just let all ye god fearing people fight amongst yourselves. eventually you'll all kill each other off and the rest of us can say good riddence.
