Giving Back

Tonight is a full moon. Just after 9PM. It's been a while since I've celebrated an esbat, full or new, but tonight I just felt like doing something. So I decided on a simple ritual to give some energy back to the earth. Energy that we rob from her every day. Energy that she freely gives. I'll pay my respects and say 'thank you' by offering up some of my own energy while also celebrating the life energy from the moon, the Goddess.
Now, to all you non-pagans, this probably sounds really strange, but it's a lot like tithing's. We usually have no physical churches that take a percentage of our pay, so we give back in other ways.
We wound the earth every day, ripping it up to build or pave or just plain disrespecting it. You don't have to be Pagan to realize that the earth is a gift. Even Christians should realize that the earth is a gift from God.
I may have an audience tonight, not sure. My friend, Kenya, from high school is interested and wants to watch a ritual/ceremony. I do feel a big uncomfortable doing something like that when the other person is watching, not participating. Eh, well. We'll see.

OMG! americans are f'in retarded!!!

Well, maybe not all Americans, but certainly the ones who agree with the blonde moron from fox news. Can't remember her name.. she's some kind of health guru. Basically the discussion was, should an American idol be obese. OBESE! This idiot actually called Jordan sparks obese! This is exactly what's wrong with so many people today. they hace such skewed ideas of beauty and health. In fact, i'd like to direct you all to a you tube video that kindly shared with me.




this video shows you just what kind of unrealistic expectations and presumptions we have about models. the people that our children aspire so much to look like, never realizing that it is, in fact, impossible. No wonder we hace eight year old girls starving themselves or throwing up lunch trying to be as thin as these make believe models are. trying to be as beautiful as these make believe models are. No wonder we have young girls and teenagers being so sexually active, juding their own beauty and self worth by how many boys want to sleep with them. There are, in fact, studies that show being slightly overweight is much much healthier than being very thing. Women, especially, are SUPPOSED to be curvy. they're supposed to be soft and squishy. Women are supposed to be like flowing silky, like a fluid willow, not a hard oak. Hard, firm bodies are a male trait and we shouldn't encourage woman to not only be perfect women but also perfect men. what the hell? this is why i'm going to keep my children- all my children, boys and girls- away from this soft of harmful media. and, if by any chance there are those of you who agree with blondie, well, you make me sick.

The O'Rielly Factor. If you watch this for any reason other than the BS factor then you probably shouldn't read this. As we all know the well known bigot, Jerry Falwell recently died. Those of us who are for freedom all did a little happy dance and rejoyced in this modern Hitler's demise. Falwell's Nazi's would argue that this is dispicable behavior. That this makes us hateful people. But let me just say... who would object to someone being happy about Hitler's death? (Psst... the answer is the Nazis) No one except for the rest of the extremeists. Jerry Falwell was a lousy human being and why does he deserve my respect? People say you shouldn't speak ill of the dead, but why? It doesn't make the things you say less true. My father died when I was 16. That doesn't make him less of an alcoholic. That didn't make him a better father. It makes no sense that we raise the dead up on some kind of untouchable pedestal. Jerry Falwell Was a horrible person and if there is a Hell I'm sure he's there. In fact, He and Hitler probably are best buddies down there because they'd probably agree on a lot. O'Rilly speaks of left wingers as if we're bad people. As if we're derogatory hoodlums. No, what we are is for human rights. We're for freedom. That makes us more American that the so called bushies, so for the war and so for following blindly anything that says "go america!" including the "war" on terror, the patriot act, and operation freedom. Liberals are for equality. we support the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) and you should too because they support you. They support basic human rights. So, I shall continue to be glad of Falwell's death. i'll do my happy little dance and not feel guilty an ounce.
